Olympia McEwan
This exciting new book commemorates and celebrates the 75th anniversary of our Liberation. Stories of the Occupation of the Channel Islands continue to inspire generations of artists, poets, historians and writers. In Living Memory is an anthology of contemporary visual arts, original essays and poetry, plus first hand memories of those who survived the war years and wish to share their memories - some for the very first time.
Hosted by Olympia McEwan, this Guernsey Literary Festival event will include those who have contributed their work to the book, with poetry recitals by Nicholas Rowe and Karen Simpson, Frances Lemmon will be speaking about her artwork, plus there will be a short story reading by Nick Le Messurier. Also Diana Nicole and Molly Bihet will talk about their first hand evacuation and occupation memories and experiences. This event promises to be very special indeed.
