Gary Younge
Gary Younge is an author, broadcaster and editor-at-large for The Guardian, based in London. After several years of reporting from all over Europe, Africa, the US and the Caribbean, Gary was appointed The Guardian’s US correspondent in 2003. In 2015 he returned to London where he is now The Guardian’s editor-at-large.
He has written five books and his latest, Another Day in the Death of America, A Chronicle of Ten Short Lives, deals with an issue which has divided the US.
This powerful book is centred on a date, 23 November, 2013, chosen at random by Younge. It was just another day in America; an unremarkable Saturday on which 10 children and teens were killed by gunfire. It was just another day in the death of America, where on a daily average - seven children and teens are killed by guns. The author searched for their families and tells their stories.
